We have all been there. Flat broke without a hope dreaming of what it would be like if only we could get our business making us some money.

It is tough isn’t it? I know how it was for me everywhere I turned I needed money to advertise my business.

I had gone through all my family and friends several times. They dreaded talking to me and I could see their eyes rolling back every time I mentioned this new business I had found that could make them rich if they only took the time to check it out.

You probably know the feeling.

So how do you get your MLM off the ground when you have no leads or money to purchase any?

The answer to that question depends on what you’re willing to do because there are many free methods of advertising that are extremely powerful. I would even go as far as saying that they are more powerful than any paid method ever could be.

What am I talking about?

It’ s social media marketing, social networking, article marketing, video marketing and social bookmarking. Any one of these can be powerful in and of themselves. My favorite is article marketing. Is it the best? Probably not for everyone, but it is the best for me and it’s what I love doing.

Articles will help you in more ways than one and they are very easy to produce once you know what to write about. You need to understand your target market before you start to write that way everything you write about will be of value to the people that will read it.

Articles drive people to your site as well as drive your site to the top of the search engines through incoming links. They help to build your credibility portraying you as an expert in your field which not only helps to build trust with your prospects, but also helps them get confidence in following you as their leader.

The first step to internet lead generation through article marketing is through education. You need to learn how to solve the problems of the people in your target group. It is the only way to get them to start seeing you as someone that will help them when they need it.

The most powerful position that you as a network marketer could possibly be in is as a solutions provider for people that would be interested in your business opportunity. The goal of all your marketing efforts should always be to get people on your list and continuously give them solutions and answers to their most pressing issues.

Building a network marketing downline is the ultimate goal of all network marketers especially one that will duplicate your efforts and stay motivated. Anybody that’s been a network marketer for any amount of time knows this task is almost impossible with old school methods of chasing your prospects down and pitching your deal on them.

I’ve heard people say “No way I’m not getting into that I don’t want to lose my friends” I remember the first time I heard that; I thought, “what are they talking about losing my friends”? Then it happened to me, I started seeing people trying to avoid me, they would cross the street when they seen me coming and these people were my friends. I was shocked after all I just wanted to help them didn’t I?

Wrong, I was not helping them I didn’t even know what they wanted or needed so how could I help them? All I was doing is seeing my own needs and thinking that my friends needed what I had when the truth is that they didn’t want to be in business for themselves. They had a job they liked so why change that?

Who knows maybe you had an experience similar to this and were shocked just like I was? The truth is it don’t have to be like that we can build our network marketing downline without a names list and never have to speak to a single one of our friends or family about it.

Attraction marketing is about giving value first, knowing your target market and supplying them with what they need not what you want them to need. It’s about giving of yourself so that people will be attracted to YOU and what you can do for them not just another compensation plan.

You see network marketing is about people first not business plans, compensation plans or products. It’s about people following people. Once you realize that you can start to move in the right direction.

You can then start setting up your marketing in an attractive way all over the internet building a huge web of content that will act as a giant magnet attracting your prospects to you.

Prequalifying prospects is an essential ingredient in the success of your network marketing business. It is also one of the main aspects that is missing in the old school methods of building your business.

You have probably been taught by your company that everybody is a prospect. This kind of teaching is what has totally messed up the credibility of our industry and has led to the high drop out rate we experience. You need to have a system setup for prequalifying prospects.

If you do the work needed to get yourself an online presence properly, then when people come online looking to start a network marketing business they will find you and be attracted to you because of the value in what you offer.

The question you need to ask yourself is: Are you going to continue to use the old-school method of building your MLM on shaky ground or are you going to do what it takes to learn the skills necessary to get an online presence and build your network marketing business on a solid foundation?

How I got my squidoo lens to the first page of google.com.

First, let me explain what a squidoo lens is. Squidoo.com is a web 2.0 website that allows you to post your content for free and a squidoo lens is what they call your content. It’s also one of the things we teach about in the Renegade Professional training area.

If you go to google.com and type in the key word phrase web 2.0 social marketing you will find my article there on the first page and as of this writing it is in the number 8 position.

You can also find me with many other search terms. I can do this with almost all competitive search terms and it don’t take long to get there. This particular article was on the first page within hours of posting and is already bringing me in leads.

We can teach you how to do it to, it is easy when you can follow along click by click and if you fall behind you can always rewind and watch it again, all our video tutorials are archived.

Squidoo is only one of the places that we teach about there are several more, another example is hubpages. By posting your content on more than one site you can really harness the power behind this type of marketing. When you link your content from squidoo to your content on hubpages and someone finds your squidoo lens on google and follows your link to hubpages you will be rewarded for bringing more traffic to hubpages thus bringing your ranking up on their site so more of their members will see your content. Believe me when I say they have a lot of members.

We can teach you how to do this and more all in simple follow along click by click training. You can see every keyboard click and every mouse click right from the start of setting up your account to writing and posting an article.

When posting articles never put the same content on more than one site always change the wording around a bit and then posting the first article on one site and the modified one on the other linking the two together. This way you can increase your search engine ranking without being penalized for duplicate content.

I hear some people say but, I hate writing I can’t do that! The good news is, you don’t have to. You can hire professional writers to write your articles for you for as little as $10-$15 an article. You can then spin out your own articles by taking the purchased articles and changing the words around a bit. By doing this you can easily spin 5 or 10 new articles from each one you purchased.
