To market and build your network marketing business online you first need to realize there are a lot of sites out there that promise you endless leads, automated systems that do it all, at a low cost with promises of big bucks flowing in. I asked myself, where and how do they get their leads?

When they say all you need to do is sign up, pay a onetime fee of a set dollar amount and do nothing, I could never see how that would work. Someone has to call, talk, write or make that first move. What do they do to get these leads? Is there a group of people in a room with phones and phone books, doing mass calling, harassing people for their email address, info, etc. then selling it to naive people looking for leads or easy money?

Network marketing company training can be the most lethal thing for your MLM business and the most stressful thing you could put yourself through.

Why do I say that?

Think of it like this. Most network marketing companies teach you to start prospecting your family and friends. Some people have family and friends that would follow them but not all of us are that lucky. In fact most people when they start, and you might be one of them, will find that their warm market will turn cold quite fast and people will start to avoid you.

Now if this is not stressful enough the MLM companies tell you to find people, hound them and literally chase them down to try and convince them that your business is right for them, even if they are not interested in having a network marketing business of their own.

Just when you think it can’t get any worse they dazzle you with the idea of buying leads. Start networking on sites like Facebook and Myspace

Network Marketing the old school way is dying; people just can’t afford it. With the price of fuel skyrocketing it’s just not a viable way to build your MLM business. The cost of living has gone up so much the average person can’t continue to buy leads month after month.

The good news is that we don’t need to do that kind of marketing anymore. Now, with the Internet and Web 2.0 social marketing, we are on a whole new playing field. We can set up our marketing system with monetization methods in place while we attract new prospects to our network marketing business.

What is Monetization?

In the network marketing industry, and especially with the new attraction marketing model, monetization is the buzz word for generating cash flow in areas that normally cost money. During the dot-com burst many web sites failed due to the lack of monetization and for that same reason most network marketers fail in their MLMs because they use old school methods.

The old school method has some monetization also, but it’s at the cost of the new recruits. The upper level distributors and industry leaders are the only ones making the money with the training DVDs/CDs , motivational seminars and books while the little guy is struggling at the bottom.

Monetizing Your Network Marketing Business

Monetization is the heart of the new attraction marketing model and is one of the main aspects of what makes this new model so powerful. Now for the first time in network marketing history can the little guy just starting out have the leverage to stay for the long haul and build their MLM business.

You may be asking, how do I incorporate monetization into my network marketing business?

First thing you need to do is plug into a system that will teach you attraction marketing. The system I found to be the best is the Renegade University. The University teaches highly effective low- to no-cost methods of marketing bringing in highly targeted prospects while generating cash flow.

Network Marketing or MLM marketing systems are a dime a dozen. With so many marketing systems out there how do you choose which one to use? Many new network marketers or even seasoned veterans who have until this point been using old school methods with the names list, 3 foot rule, and cold market prospecting are coming online and finding it a nightmare. If you have been trying to run your network marketing business online at all you know what I’m talking about. So how do you choose a good MLM marketing system? A good network marketing business building system should have four key ingredients.

  1. A definite laid out plan of action!
  2. It should be able to leverage your time!
  3. Your marketing system should be monetized!
  4. Someone should be there to teach you the ropes!

If any of these 4 key ingredients are missing or lack in any way your MLM marketing system will be severely hindered if it works at all.

For example:

let’s say you get into a Network Marketing business and you find a marketing system with some awesome lead capture pages and auto responder letters all laid out for you. You’re excited and rightfully so, why shouldn’t you be? After all this system does all the work right? It’s setup to make you all this extra money on the side with referral commissions as your team follows you. You even got somebody teaching you how to get your network marketing business all plugged in. It’s there online ready for people to come and then nothing happens.

What’s wrong, you did everything they said didn’t you?

The reason its not working is the marketing system is faulty in all the above ingredients even though it has them all to a small degree. You see this example has all the ingredients to the same degree that most marketing systems do.

Your plan of action was to get your network marketing business plugged into a good MLM marketing system and maybe put out a few ads or buy some leads. Then wait and hope your lead capture pages and the auto responder letters would do the rest. This kind of plan usually fails unless you are lucky, are a professional copywriter or have an endless supply of cash to keep buying leads.

It leveraged your time to a degree by following up with any leads using the auto responder letters. Our example lacked in its ability to sort and qualify our prospects as they went through our marketing pipeline.

It had some monetization but, in my opinion a system with only a referral commission for cash flow is flawed because it relies on people following you. An ideal MLM marketing system is setup in such a way that you will make money whether your prospects follow you into your network marketing business or not.

Last but, definitely not least it could very well be one of the most important ingredients yet. The system has somebody teaching you how to set it all up by plugging your MLM into it and getting it online. This is where our example failed miserably and most marketing systems do. For that reason I almost put this ingredient as number one.

Most people can have all 3 of the other ingredients and even the 4th one to the limited degree as in our example and still fail. Problem is you have nobody showing you how to implement a plan of action that will set you up with a MLM marketing system that passes all four of these ingredients with flying colors in an easy step by step fashion that even a tech challenged newbie could understand.
