First, what is Twitter and how is it going to help build your network marketing business? Twitter is a web 2.0 social marketing micro-blogging site. It is a lot like a regular blog, but with twitter you can’t post articles, just short updates of 140 characters – hence the term micro-blogging.

But just because they are short updates, don’t underestimate the power of Twitter. It’s one of the easiest of all the social media sites to set up and is an awesome way to stay in contact with your audience by sending them updates on what you are doing.

How is this going to help you build your network marketing business?

Building a network marketing business online starts by building and communicating with an audience of people who are interested in what you have to offer. By building your audience, such as an email list or a group at any of the social networking sites, you can continue to give them valuable information.

This will build trust and soon your audience will start to purchase the things you recommend because of all the value they have received from you.

Once you have your list and have built trust you can start putting your offers in front of them, some of them will join your network marketing business, and some will purchase other things you recommend. Regardless of whether or not they join your MLM you get paid.

Your list is yours; they will follow you always regardless of whether or not your network marketing company goes out of business.

Building an audience and communicating through email is only one of many ways you can stay in touch with your audience.

A lot of the web 2.0 social marketing sites have what they call a fan club. If you have blogs your audience can also subscribe to your RSS so they get notified every time you post new content.

I use a number of different web 2.0 social marketing sites to gather an audience of eager readers.

Some of them include Squidoo, Hubpages, and book marking sites like Digg. I also use social networking sites like Facebook. The point is, building an audience is the cornerstone of success in Internet network marketing. Learning how to use all of the attraction-based marketing methods to gain an audience can be a huge asset in your network marketing business.

With twitter I can get a whole new audience plus connect my audiences together. What I mean by that is you can setup twitter to update your status on facebook, squidoo, your blog etc. so every time I post an update at twitter all my audiences see it.

Joining Twitter now is the best time; with Mike Dillard announcing that he just joined you could get yourself in front of his audience. You could say that Mike is giving away his list.
